Why Search Engine Optimisation Matters!

Just under a month ago Google released their new Search Indexing System titled ‘Caffeine’. Caffeine offers 50% fresher results than the previous indexing system used, and is the largest collection of web content ever offered.
One of the best benefits of this new indexing system, is that in this competitive online world, you are able to frequently optimise your website for search engines i.e. Google, and see faster turn-around times with search results. This doesn’t mean that by quickly updating a few keywords and adding unique page titles you will instantly move to the top of Google. What this does mean is that Google will index those changes faster and give you better chances for a higher organic search position. And with 58% of consumers using search engines to connect with local businesses, getting your website to the top of Google is a high priority.
System Facts (just for fun):
Caffeine processes hundreds of thousands of web pages every second in parallel, taking up nearly 100 million gigabytes of storage in one database and also adds information to this database at a rate of hundreds of thousands of gigabytes per day. This is equivalent to 625,000 of the largest iPods out. If these iPods were then stacked end-to-end it would reach more than 64km.
