Back in April 2008, Transworld skateboarding released its first annual competition titled ‘Skate & Create’. This competition consisted of four teams with four pro-skateboarders, one amateur skateboarder, a photographer, a videographer and an art director all piled into a warehouse for nine days. The teams were supplied with a huge range of ramps, rails, banks and boxes to construct a skate obstacle out of. The teams were challenged to come up with the most creative concept, skate obstacles, photography, skateboarding and music video.

This competition was a huge success in both the skateboarding world as well as the creative industries, showcasing amazing concepts and successfully developing them into videos.

There are loads of awesome videos online to check out, although below we have posted the 2008 winning team “DVS Skateboards”. Regardless of being two years old we still find this video to be inspiring and extremely well composed.
