Save Our Logo – an extension of corporate responsibility?

Friday, March 18th, 2011 by TBD

Stephen Messenger on Treehugger asks an interesting question. Shouldn’t companies who use animals in their logos for corporate gain be charged with protecting them? Maybe there should be an ‘Animal Licensing Office’.

The ALO would decide how much the annual fee should be for using an animal in a logo based on where that animal sits on the endangered species list. The more endangered the more money for licensing… and thus a reflection on the brands luxury status perhaps?

Well, Save Your Logo have done exactly that. Challenging corporates to dig into their pockets to help their logo emblem – be it flora or fauna – survive.

Time to cough up for biodiversity.
