I read JD Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye for the first time a couple of years ago. I thought it was a good book but it didn’t have the huge impact on me I thought it would (am I too old perhaps?)… and maybe that’s why JD Salinger is haunting me. I have come across mentions and references of JD Salinger almost a dozen times since then almost to the point of going back to reread the book.

Last night while hunting around the web for something completely different I came across another JD Salinger reference, and this one I thought I would share with you. This is a rejection letter you’ll want to receive written by Salinger to a student asking him to speak at the school’s graduation.
