Another death knell: Journalism is dead

Well almost… Crikey, an online Australian news outlet, in conjunction with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), has undertaken a six month study into the role PR plays in shaping the content of Australia’s daily newspapers. Their results weren’t encouraging for people thinking we have a healthy journalistic industry in Australia.
“…after analysing a five-day working week in the media, across 10 hard-copy papers, ACIJ [Australian Centre for Independent Journalism] and Crikey found that nearly 55% of stories analysed were driven by some form of public relations.”
